Ledger Nano X
Ledger Nano X
Looking to one up your Ledger Nano S? Introducing, Ledger Nano X! What makes X
better than S? There are many reasons. So let’s go through everything, from the
moment you receive your purchase (just under $140), to the in-depth details on the
specs and how to run the device.
Your purchase will come with 1 hardware wallet, 1 USB-C to USB-A cable, 1 getting
started leaflet, 3 recovery sheets and 1 keychin strap. The hardware wallet is made of
brushed stainless steel and plastic. I can guarantee you you’ll be happy with the sleek,
modern design. It also contains a lithium-ion 100mAh battery (0.37Wh=1 cell) which
allows a battery life of 8 hours. What’s also great is that everything’s wireless, other
than when you have to charge your device; you will not need any additional cords.
Now that you’ve opened the device, what’s next? You will have to go through the
1. Install and set-up the Ledger Live app on the device/s of your choice. The Ledger
Live app is the software used to link, set up and manage your crypto assets.
2. Next you will have to choose a pin and write down your recovery phrase. Your
recovery phrase is made up of 24 words that you will need to back up and store
in a secure place. NEVER share this phrase with anyone.
3. Thirdly, you will need to install the applications on your device. Go to the
Manager in your Ledger Live and select the application/s you would like to install
on your device.
4. Finally, add an account to manage your crypto.
Now you can send your cryptocurrency assets from any exchange or other wallet to your device.
I highly recommend going over the short videos they’ve created to give you an idea of
what to expect. You can find some of these videos here;
Comparing the Ledger Nano S to X, the Ledger Nano X is slightly more weighty. A huge
plus to the X is that it’s compatible with both Android and iOS devices. It also stores up
to 100 apps whereas the Nano X only stores 6. Security-wise, both ledger devices offer
the same industry-standard security. Ultimately, the Ledger Nano X is the better of the
two. I would say if you are an active trader with a diverse portfolio, the Ledger Nano X is
exactly what you need.
If you’re lost and have no idea what I’m referring to, I’m assuming you’re new to the
crypto space. Basically, the Ledger Nano X (hardware wallet) is a secure way to buy,
exchange and grow your crypto assets. It’s an offline, tangible wallet, so you are less likely to have scammers meddle with your crypto assets. If this is you, I encourage you
